 BENZALKONIUM CHLORIDE (50%) CAS 8001-54-5 can be used as bactericide, disinfectant for medical and surgical instruments. It dissociates into cationic active groups in aqueous solution and has the advantages of clean descaling, emulsification and solubilization. It can be used as a leveling agent for cationic chemical book dyes, as well as a bactericidal and algal removing agent for industrial water, as well as a disinfectant and mildew inhibitor for animal husbandry fences, grain warehouses, silkworm rooms, mushrooms, white fungus and other economic crops.

Benzalkonium chloride is a cationic surface-active agent. It is used as a preservative in pharmaceutical products like eye, ear and nasal drops. It finds application in personal care products such as wet wipes, shampoos, hand sanitizers, deodorants and cosmetics. In addition, it is widely used in the chemical industry as a precipitant and emulsifier/de-emulsifier. Moreover, it acts as corrosion inhibitor in the oil and gas industry pipeline by preventing the formation of sulfurous gases. It is also used in various non-consumer process like surgical disinfection.
